Mariupol population deported to Russian territory
KIEV – The Russian invasion of Ukraine has now been going on for more than three weeks. Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelensky has called for meaningful peace and security talks with Moscow, Turkey now acting as the latest mediator. There is still heavy fighting in the south of Ukraine in particular, including in Kherson and Mariupol, but due to the fierce fighting, emergency aid is slow to get going. Ukrainian authorities accuse the Russians of carrying out illegal deportations.
