United Kingdom, Canada and Australia recognize Palestinian State

The United Kingdom, Australia and Canada recognize the Palestinian state, have announced the prime ministers of the three countries. They do that with immediate effect. All three emphasize that Hamas should not be given a place in a Palestinian administration.
Prime Ministers Mark Carney (Canada), Anthony Albanese (Australia) and Keir Starmer (VK) announced that they would go to the recognition about the same time on Sunday afternoon. Several countries have announced that they recognize the Palestinian state around the general meeting of the UN that will take place next week. The VK, Australia and Canada are the first to do that.
They thus defy the anger of Israel and also of his great patron the United States. They state that the recognition is a reward and encouragement for Hamas, which they want to destroy.
Starmer tried to parry that criticism in advance. The decision is “not a reward for Hamas, because it stipulates that Hamas will not get a future and no role” in tomorrow’s Gaza, according to the British Prime Minister in a video message on X.

With the recognition of a future ‘Palestine’, the three countries want to maintain the view of the so -called two -state solution, says Carney. That solution, with an Israeli and a Palestinian state next to each other, is under great pressure now that the government of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu openly turns against it. With, for example, new settlements, the Netanyahu government tries to make its own country impossible for Palestinians.
