Senate vs votes against restricting Trumps war powers
The US Senate, where the Republicans have a majority, has rejected a proposal from the Democrats to prevent President Donald Trump from taking further military action against Iran. Last weekend the US carried out air strikes on nuclear facilities in Iran by order of Trump.
A few hours before the vote, Trump had said that he will bomb Iran again if information shows that the country can enrich Uranium until it is suitable for nuclear weapons.
The resolution, in which it was proposed that further military action against Iran can only be carried out with approval of the congress, was rejected with 53 against 47 votes. Almost all Republicans voted against. Only Rand Paul, known for his anti-war positions, voted in favor. John Fetterman, a fanatic Israel trailer, was the only Democrat to vote against
