Live ticker THW Kiel – KS Kielce (Champions League 2022/2023, Group B)

19:25

Mid-term conclusion:
What a crazy first half in Kiel! The THW dismantled last year’s Champions League finalist KS Kielce with every trick in the book and led to the break with nine goals! From the first second, almost everything worked with highly concentrated zebras. Tomáš Mrkva, surprisingly standing in goal, made five saves, the middle block is up and the home side score at will. Even in two manpower games, the Kielers threw out a 4:0. With the guests, nothing reminds of the team that almost won the title last year and is almost certainly in the quarter-finals. The short-term departure of Nedim Remili has apparently left its mark. Even seven saves by Andi Wolff could not help the guests. But you can be pretty sure that the Polish series champion will show a different face after the change. See you soon!

1.

18:47

Here we go! Tomáš Mrkva is in the goal for the home team and Andreas Wolff is in charge of the visitors at his old place of work.

18:45

The first leg went to the Poles with 40:37. Is there a similar peat festival today? And can THW finally win Kielce again after nine bankruptcies in a row? It starts in a few moments!

18:41

In what has been an outstanding season to date, the guests have only lost in the away game at FC Barcelona and have otherwise won everything. The Polish series champion with Andi Wolff is not only well cast in goal. In addition to his sons Alex and Daniel, coach Talant Dujshebaev can also rely on his strong pivots Nicolas Tournat and Artsem Karalek and top scorer Arkadiusz Moryto. Superstar Nedim Remili, on the other hand, surprisingly left the club yesterday for Veszprém.

18:27

The hosts had imagined the start after the long World Cup break differently. On Sunday, Kiel lost to SC Magdeburg in the quarter-finals of the cup in a real thriller after extra time. So the first one is supposed to be brought in in the Champions League in 2023. “Kielce has an incredible amount of individual class, plays an awkward 5-1 defense and will go wide in attack. But we know how incredibly important a good place in the table after the group stage is for the rest of the competition, so we will do everything to win”, Hendrik Pekeler clarified beforehand.

18:17

In the last game before the World Cup break, the Zebras celebrated an important away win at Aalborg Handbold and thus ensured that they still have the qualification for the round of 16 in their own hands. Aalborg and Pick Szeged are still breathing down the neck of THW and so a win against Kielce would be incredibly important today. But that won’t be easy, because the team of national goalkeeper Andreas Wolff has won nine out of ten games so far and can already make it clear with another win that they go directly into the quarter-finals.

18:15

Hello and welcome to the EHF Champions League! After a break of almost two months, the premier class of European handball is finally back. THW Kiel has the Polish champion KS Kielce as a guest on the eleventh day of the game. At 6.45 p.m. there is a throw-off in the Wunderino Arena!
