Today’s stage
The course leads from Essen through the northern Ruhr area and further through the Münsterland. After Hamm, well known for his ICE access, the field rolls to East Westphalia, where in Herford the first real sprint decision of the tour is probably waving. The terrain is mostly flat, but some waves are waiting in the final. The Bonussprint on Stuckenberg is particularly exciting, five kilometers before the finish. With up to nine percent slope, the order could be neatly whirled again. On the subsequent departure and the last thousand meters to the finish, the sprinter can make justified hopes. For the stage winners there are again valuable bonifications (10/6/4 seconds).

Florian Lipowitz
Florian Lipowitz, celebrated Tour-de-France knuckle, became 35. He wants to take the tour rather easily. His motto is “day by day”, but the fans can still look forward to his appearances. With his participation, he will primarily want to give something back to the domestic fans who have sitting in front of the end devices during the Tour de France due to his strong performance during the French tour.

Review of the prologue
Yesterday with the 3.1 kilometer short time trial on the UNESCO World Heritage Zeche Zollverein was due. Norwegian Sören Waerenskjold was the fastest with a time of 3:31 minutes. The Briton Samuel Watson followed just behind, which was only 0.52 seconds slower. Marco Haller from Austria completed the podium 3: 33.59 minutes. There was a little surprise from the top favorite Jonathan Milan, who only finished 15th. The dreaded sprinter lost five seconds, but must not be written off in the coming days.
