20′

After a high ball across the width of the field, Marius Wolf is alone on the right side, but this cross comes too high. He can no longer get to the ball with a header.

18′

6:50 p.m

In the current minutes, Bayern striker Harry Kane takes on the role of a hanging striker, which is often difficult for his opponents in yellow to predict. BVB would do well to sort itself out now.

17′

6:49 p.m

Musiala, Sané and Coman can dribble their way through the Dortmund half almost like a knife through butter. These are the well-known problems of BVB’s defense, which have not yet found an antidote.

16′

6:47 p.m

Sané shoots from very close range in the penalty area on the line! But Gregor Kobel’s reflexes defuse this situation and the flag then goes up. Sané was just offside when Goretzka passed the ball.

15′

6:45 p.m

BVB now also wants to combine in the box: Brandt looks for the interface in the box in Wolf’s box with a chip ball, but he then tears Kim to the ground with a striker’s foul.

14′

18:44

Strong and eager to run, Donyell Malen takes on his opponent Upamecano and finishes in the penalty area! But the former Leipzig player blocked his shot early on in the shooting path.

12′

18:43

The first goal for the home team: Because there is no way through the penalty line, Ryerson hits it with his right foot from the half-left position, but misses well past the far post.

10′

18:41

Bayern pressed very aggressively in the opening minutes against Dortmund, who were obviously very unsettled and overwhelmed on defense and were unable to provide relief.

6:39 p.m

Harry Kane

Too bad for Bayern Munich, 0-2 by Harry Kane

Oh my BVB! Because Leroy Sané Hummels was running away on the right, the former Schalke player was able to cross to Kane in the penalty area in front of Kobel, who was charging out, and he only had to push in in front of the empty goal. After less than ten minutes, Bayern are leading 2-0!

8th’

6:39 p.m

After Munich lost the ball, there was space for Julian Brandt to move forward – but the black and yellow midfield engine remained stuck with Kim.

8th’

6:38 p.m

Bayern continue to attack their opponents early in their half: here is the example of Mazraoui, who doesn’t allow Donyell Malen to build up.

6′

6:37 p.m

Coman almost makes it 2-0! Like Arjen Robben once did, the Frenchman moves inwards from the right side after a cross pass from Musiala and shoots from the edge of the penalty area. His ball goes just over the crossbar. There wasn’t much missing!

6′

6:36 p.m

Eden Terzic’s tactics were thrown out of the window early on. How does BVB overcome the early deficit?

4′

18:34

Dayot Upamecano

Too bad for Bayern Munich, 0-1 by Dayot Upamecano

Less than five minutes have been played and Bayern are leading! After Sané’s corner, Dayot Upamecano cleverly breaks away from his man-markers Schlotterbeck and Hummels and heads in easily and casually from six meters to give Bayern an early lead!

3′

18:34

Bayern presses Dortmund early and builds up the game quickly from the midfield. So after a relay over Kane and Coman, Jamal Musiala comes to the end on the right of the baseline and takes the first corner.

2′

The referee for today’s game is Deniz Aytekin. He is supported by Christian Dietz and Eduard Beitinger on the sidelines as well as Benjamin Brand in the Cologne basement.

6:31 p.m

Here we go! The Bavarians in the white jerseys toast and first play against the yellow wall of the BVB fans.

6:18 p.m

Bayern coach Thomas Tuchel before the game: “We were extremely disappointed with the result in the cup. But we have a good series in the league and still trust the team. We are going to Dortmund to win.” He continued: “The key will be that we play attentively and at our limits and perform at our best level from the first to the last minute.”

6:03 p.m

Edin Terzic (coach Borussia Dortmund) at the press conference before today’s duel: “I have rarely seen two disappointing performances from Bayern in a row. Against us, their senses are always a little sharper than against other opponents and now there is probably a small portion of anger added to that .” With regard to previous duels, he noted: “We have come closer to annoying Bayern in the past and especially last year. But we have to learn that these games can be decided by details. We have to get effectiveness into our game and we can’t miss so many chances if we want to win.”

6:01 p.m

Because Bayern embarrassed themselves with a B team in Saarland, Thomas Tuchel changed his starting line-up to seven positions: Upamecano and Mazraoui played on the right in defense alongside Davies and Kim, as Matthijs de Ligt was injured in the cup game. The suspended Joshua Kimmich will be represented by a double six of Laimer and Goretzka. Mathys Tel returns to the bench along with Frans Krätzig, Thomas Müller and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting. Kingsley Coman, Jamal Musiala and of course Harry Kane start at the top.

17:51

Compared to the cup game against TSG, Edin Terzic is making a few changes for today’s duel: Mats Hummels takes the place in central defense next to Schlotterbeck and pushes former Bavarian Niklas Süle onto the bench. Instead of Moukoko, Füllkrug starts at the forefront, behind him Reus plays alongside Donyell Malen and Julian Brandt instead of Gio Reyna and Jamie Bynoe-Gittens. Sabitzer also takes the six-man position next to Özcan. So a 4-2-3-1 system is to be expected.

5:44 p.m

The home team was unable to win the last nine duels between BVB and Bayern. Last year, however, the two opponents acted on equal terms: While the first leg of last season was famous for the late 2-2 equalizer for BVB by Modeste and the very emotional reaction of Oliver Kahn (then still CEO of Bayern), Thomas Tuchel celebrated made his debut as coach of the record champions in the second leg. The Reds defeated Westphalia 4-2 in the Allianz Arena.

5:32 p.m

During the week, BVB secured progression in the DFB Cup with a 1-0 win over TSG Hoffenheim. In addition, they are only two points behind the record champions in the league and could, at least temporarily, jump to second place behind Bayer Leverkusen if they win. However, the mood in Munich isn’t all that good: a last-minute goal meant the German industry leader had to give up early in the DFB Cup against third division team Saarbrücken for the fourth time in a row. No reason for the Westphalians to take Bayern lightly, because we know from experience: an angry FC Bayern is also a dangerous FC Bayern.

5:28 p.m
