Five goal involvements from documentary: Manchester City dismantles Bournemouth

Belgians towered over

Even without goals from star striker Erling Haaland, Manchester City has underlined its exceptional position. Coach Pep Guardiola’s team managed a clear 6-1 (3-0) win against AFC Bournemouth in the Premier League on Saturday. The former Dortmund player Haaland had some great chances during his 45-minute appearance, but still has eleven league goals. Jérémy Doku excelled with one goal and four assists.

Summer newcomer Doku gave the Skyblues the lead with his second goal of the season (30th minute). The Belgian perfectly prepared the 2-0 through Bernardo Silva three minutes later. The 21-year-old also played a major role in City’s third goal. Doku’s shot was deflected by former Dortmund player Manuel Akanji to make it 3-0 (38′).

Guardiola substituted Haaland at halftime ahead of Tuesday’s Champions League duel against BSC Young Boys. Substitute Phil Foden increased the score to 4-0 (64′), Doku was again the passer. Silva (83′) after a Doku cross and Nathan Aké (88′) after a corner from Norwegian youngster Oscar Bobb made the final score 6-1 for City after the only Bournemouth goal by Luis Sinisterra (74′).
