19:46

From the half-right midfield, Nkounkou passes through for Chaïbi, who appears free in front of Schwäbe in the box. He casually pushes in from ten meters, but is correctly called back for offside.

55′

19:42

Yellow card for Niels Nkounkou (Eintracht Frankfurt)

Nkounkou clears Alidou on the sideline. Yellow is fine.

54′

19:42

…again there is a bit of chaos at Cologne. The standard slips through to the far post before it ends up at Tuta via a detour. His difficult-to-take shot from half-right goes over.

53′

19:41

At first the corner brings in nothing. Afterwards, Nkounkou takes a corner kick on the left side…

52′

7:40 p.m

Strong thing from Chaïbi! The new man twirls a free kick from 27 meters from half left with a lot of cut and steam onto the far corner. Schwäbe stretches out and defends for a corner from the right.

49′

7:37 p.m

Now referee Gerach blows his whistle again.

48′

7:36 p.m

The game is interrupted and golden chocolate coins fly onto the field. These have to be cleared from the place first.

46′

19:34

Things continue with a personnel change among the guests. Chaïbi takes over for Dina-Ebimbe.

46′

19:33

Fares Chaibi

Substitution at Eintracht Frankfurt: Farès Chaïbi

19:33

Kick-off of the 2nd half

45′

7:18 p.m

Half-time conclusion:
Break in Cologne, the score between Effzeh and Eintracht Frankfurt is still goalless. The Billy Goats were the much better team in the first 25 minutes and had a great chance to take the lead through Thielmann in the 14th minute. In other respects, too, it was the hosts who were braver and looked for the way forward. The Hessians, on the other hand, only fought their way into the game tentatively – but had good opportunities to make it 0-1 thanks to Koch and Skhiri. Overall, we see a lively football game in which anything can happen in the second half. We’ll stay tuned, see you soon!

45′

7:15 p.m

Nice try. Ljubicic simply tries his luck from 18 meters from half-right. The ball just barely whizzes past the post on the left.

43′

19:12

There are only a few minutes left until halftime. Is there anything else happening here beforehand?

40′

7:10 p.m

Now Skhiri! With a chip taken directly, Götze passes through high above the opposing defensive line to Skhiri. The former Cologne player fails from Schwäbe from 13 meters to the right.

39′

7:09 p.m

There was more in it! Finkgräfe leaves several Frankfurters in the kick-off circle and passes to Ljubicic to the half-right. The 26-year-old lets himself drift out a bit, then his shot from 18 meters whizzes over.

37′

7:07 p.m

The match is currently taking a short break. Not much comes from either side because both defensive lines are quite compact.

34′

7:04 p.m

Tuta

Yellow card for Tuta (Eintracht Frankfurt)

Tuta steps a little behind Martel, but he gets a yellow card.

33′

7:03 p.m

As a result of a blocked corner, Schmitz heads the ball again. In the end it is Hübers who fails to pass Trapp from a tight angle from the left in the short corner. However, the defender was also offside.

31′

7:01 p.m

Half an hour has passed and the SGE is slowly getting a little stronger. However, the more awake still make the better impression.

28′

6:59 p.m

…the first variant is blocked to the second corner, and it’s a tough one! Koch climbs up in the middle of the six-yard box, but is a little surprised that he actually gets to the ball. Without much pressure, he nods past to the right in a free-standing position.

27′

18:58

First the Eagles come to a corner. Götze is ready…

24′

18:56

Toppmöller cannot be satisfied with his team’s performance. Defensively things are looking a little more stable now. Götze, Kalajdžić and Co. are completely written off at the front.

21′

18:53

Knauff plucks a long ball into the top with his chest. But then he fails to take it with him, so the opportunity is lost right from the start. He had quite a lot of space there.

19′

6:50 p.m

Denis Huseinbašić

Yellow card for Denis Huseinbašić (1. FC Köln)

Huseinbašić gets Kalajdžić off his feet a bit roughly. He sees the first yellow box of the game.

18′

6:47 p.m

The fact remains that the Rhinelanders are the much more active and better team. Eintracht, on the other hand, has yet to get their foot in the door offensively.

15′

6:45 p.m

…the stationary ball fizzles out.

14′

6:45 p.m

Great chance to make it 1-0! Again it is Thielmann who runs a long through ball to the left. This time he races almost to the baseline, where he tries the far corner from nine meters. Trapp just saves the corner with one hand…

11′

18:41

The atmosphere in the Cologne stadium is excellent. The home fans whip their team forward with loud chants. And it starts off quite courageously.

8th’

6:39 p.m

The Toppmöller team is still traveling with a stalled engine. There is practically nothing moving forward.

5′

6:35 p.m

Ljubicic! Alidou breaks through on the right, then a rebound between him and his opponent goes into the box on the left. There Ljubicic takes the shot with a side kick, but throws the pill over it from ten meters.

4′

18:34

The Müngersdorfers initially generate more possession of the ball than their opponents. In this way they want to gain security in their own actions.

1′

6:31 p.m

In the first minute there is the first conclusion! Chabot’s long ball from the halfway line lands at Thielmann. The attacker runs half-left into the sixteen-yard box, then shoots inside and from eight meters. Trapp parries with his chest – then the flag goes up for offside.

1′

6:30 p.m

The ball rolls.

18:11

On the other hand, the trend among Hessians is upwards. In the new year, they got a total of two wins from three matches (1-0 at RB Leipzig, 1-0 against 1. FSV Mainz 05) and one draw (2-2 at SV Darmstadt 98). That’s currently enough for sixth place in the rankings, they are only two points behind Leipzig and six behind Borussia Dortmund, who would currently qualify for the Champions League. Accordingly, there is a lot at stake for the Eagles today – and an exciting game is inevitable.

5:57 p.m

It was a step forward that Effzeh took last weekend. In the away game at VfL Wolfsburg there was ultimately only a draw (1:1). In terms of performance, the billy goats were definitely able to keep up with the wolves and were even the better team at times. The problem: They are still in the bottom of the table and are already five points behind 1. FC Union Berlin in 16th place with twelve points scored and one more game played. That’s why we absolutely have to have a threesome in front of our own audience today.

5:45 p.m

The guests form a chain of four in front of goalkeeper Trapp consisting of Tuta, Smolčić, Koch and Max. Dina-Ebimbe, Skhiri, Larsson and Nkounkou play in midfield. On the wings, Götze and Knauff are looking for a way forward in order to ideally serve striker Kalajdžić.

5:38 p.m

Let’s first look at the lineups of both teams. As usual, Schwäbe starts in goal for the hosts, with Schmitz, Hübers, Chabot and Finkgräfe defending in front of him. Martel and Huseinbašić form the double six, with Alidou, Kainz and Ljubicic providing attacking power. Thielmann should take photos in the center of the storm.
