On May 19 last year, a Brink’s valuable transport car was robbed at the company on Meeuwenlaan. The robbers fired into the air with automatic weapons. Inside, Schöne employees were tied up. The perpetrators got away with a loot of 14.5 million euros, part of which is still missing.

They fled in several cars to the village of Broek in Waterland, above Amsterdam, being chased by a large police force. In a meadow in that village, the police shot dead a 47-year-old robber (a Frenchman) and arrested six others. Officers said the robbers fired at them.

The previous pro forma hearing was held in mid-November. Then there were six people in court, all men from Belgium and France. Shortly before that, the Public Prosecution Service had announced that two more suspects had been arrested, a 20-year-old woman from Belgium and a 44-year-old man from Paris. This woman is not in prison, the Frenchman is. He has been added as a suspect at Monday’s hearing.

The substantive hearing of the case is expected in September.
