Tonight Drenthe commemorates the victims of the Holocaust during the annual commemoration of the dead at Camp Westerbork. The commemoration starts at 7 p.m. with a silent trip on the ‘Boulevard des Misères’ and can be followed live here.
This year the Hein family is central. Peter Hein, Hangingchind during the war, keeps the reflection. His children contribute to music, prayers and a reflection on justice and memory.
The ceremony ends with two minutes of silence at 8 p.m. and a flower laying at the monument.
