Melania Trump in letter to Putin: It’s time for peace

The conservative American news channel Fox News has published the content of a letter that Melania Trump had her husband, President Donald Trump, handed over to his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin. That happened in Alaska, where the two leaders talked about the war in Ukraine.

The First Lady makes Putin a clamping call for peace, especially for the future of the children in the war zone. “Every child dreams of love, opportunities and protection against danger,” said Melania Trump. She not only calls it the duty of parents, but also of world leaders to ensure that children “wake up in peace” and calls Putin to achieve this. “You can restore their melodic laughter. By protecting the innocence of these children, you need more than just Russia – you serve humanity itself.”

The idea for peace “exceeds all human division, and you, Mr. Putin, can realize this vision today with one pen area,” Melania concludes her letter. “It’s time.”

The consultation between her husband and Putin has not led to a cease-fire or concrete peace proposals.
