Live NH Sport: Telstar meets Monnickendammer Martijn Kaars at Helmond Sport, who is on fire

It is not yet a series like that of AZ striker Vangelis Pavlidis, but Monnickendammer Martijn Kaars is this season on fire at first division team Helmond Sport. If Telstar manages to eliminate Kaars tonight, the chance of a good result will increase considerably. You can follow Helmond Sport – Telstar directly on NH Radio from 7 p.m

With nine goals, Kaars is joint top scorer in the first division this season. Never before has the striker started off so strongly. Partly because of this, Helmond Sport is no longer at the bottom of the detested right-hand row of the standings, but in ninth place. The difference with number eighteen Telstar is already eight points.

Both teams played without success on Tuesday evening in the first round of the KNVB Cup. Telstar lost in Veenendaal from second division team GVVV, while Helmond Sport lost 3-1 at Spakenburg. Candle didn’t score.

Danny Bakker returns from a suspension at Telstar. He missed the cup match because he against TOP Oss (1-0) got the red card. Trainer Mike Snoei can also call on Thomas Oude Kotte again.

The last time Telstar boarded the bus from Helmond to Velsen-Zuid empty-handed was in 2015. The seven matches that followed resulted in four wins and three draws. Last season Elmo Lieftink prevented Telstar from winning 2-1 with a goal in injury time. Kaars scored the Brabanders’ first goal.

Christos Giousis left his mark on the match on behalf of Telstar: the Greek scored, but was sent off shortly afterwards. It was also the evening when Snoei got into a fight with the opponent’s trainer, Bob Peeters.

Helmond Sport – Telstar starts at 8 p.m. You will receive the commentary from Frank van der Meijden.

VVV-Venlo – Jong AZ

Jong AZ is the other North Holland team that will be in action tonight. The Alkmaar promises, where Jaydan Addai is top scorer with nine goals, will play against VVV in Venlo.

Coach Jan Sierksma’s team is not enjoying the bus trips this season; there are four defeats and one draw on the match list. It should be noted that Jong AZ has not hit the fewest clubs with NAC Breda, ADO Den Haag, Roda JC and FC Emmen.

After an excellent start, VVV-Venlo is in a somewhat weaker phase in terms of results. VVV was also eliminated from the cup this week: sc Heerenveen clearly proved too strong with a 5-1 win. In the competition, the Limburgers and Jong AZ do not differ much from each other. If number eleven Jong AZ wins, the Alkmaarders will pass number eight VVV in the rankings. The match in De Koel starts at 8 p.m. Stephan Brandhorst reports.

Young Ajax will not be in action tonight. The Amsterdam team will play against Willem II on Monday. NH Sport is there tonight from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Your presenter is Robbert van den Heuvel.
