In New York, the Dow Jones closed with a loss in volatile trading on Thursday, and the S&P 500 and Nasdaq also closed with red figures on the first trading day of 2025. Tesla lost 6% after disappointing sales figures. Apple fell along with GM, while Nvidia rose 3%. The AEX closed with a profit in Amsterdam on the first trading day of 2025 at more than 887.17 points. Losses at AkzoNobel, UMG and Randstad did not outweigh the gains of chip supplier Besi, Shell, Aegon and ASMI.
