Illusionist Hans Klok will be standing with his theater tent in the Geusseltpark in Maastricht on Wednesday. On the occasion of King’s Day, Klok has now created a special illusion with ‘royal allure’, according to the artist. “This act illustrates the pride of the Netherlands. I follow in the footsteps of Dutch masters and bring paintings to life.”

Because of King’s Day there are some deposits in the center of Maastricht on Tuesday and Wednesday.
9:00 am – The Netherlands celebrates King’s Night again after years
The Netherlands will celebrate King’s Night again for the first time in years on Tuesday. There are festivities all over the country on Tuesday evening and night. The traditional party evening has been canceled for the past two years due to the corona crisis.
8:30 am – Thousands of Dutch people receive a ribbon from the king
“It has pleased His Majesty the King to appoint you”, that sentence will be heard by thousands of people in the Netherlands on Tuesday. It is then again the annual Lintjesregen, where people are appointed as a member, knight or officer in the Order of Orange-Nassau or the Order of the Dutch Lion. Well-known Dutch people receive the ribbon for their career, unknown Dutch people for their contributions to society, for example by doing volunteer work for years.
