KLM does not fly to the Israeli city of Tel Aviv until 1 July. That decision was taken after attacks by Israel on Iran in the night from Thursday to Friday. The airline previously also suspended flights due to tensions in the region.
“We continue to follow the situation closely and adjust our flight schedule when it is safe again,” says a spokeswoman. KLM has only flew daily on Tel Aviv since the end of last month.
Sister company Air France scraps flights to and from Tel Aviv until Tuesday, according to the KLM spokeswoman.
Ben-Gurion airport in the Israeli city of Tel Aviv is closed on Friday until further notice. Moreover, the airspace is closed in Israel, Iran, Iraq and Jordan. According to KLM, this has no consequences for flight routes to other destinations.
Various Israeli airlines, such as El Al, will move their aircraft from the country on Friday.
