3 p.m.: SV Urk – VVSB

SV Urk had to go to great lengths last season to secure a longer stay in the third division. The former islanders hope to make it a little less exciting this season. Things are going smoothly for the team of trainer Peter Wesselink so far. The first four matches yielded ten points. Last week SV Urk was too strong for Staphorst with 1-4.

The meeting with VVSB awaits this afternoon. The formation that not so long ago reached the semi-finals of the KNVB Cup has been in the third division for a few years now and is having a hard time. With one point from four matches, VVSB currently occupies sixteenth place.

3 p.m.: DVS’33 – Kampong

If there is one team that will be very disappointed in the start of the competition, it is that DVS’33. The team from Ermelo finished in seventh place in the third division last season, but could not make any progress in the first weeks of the new season.

Although it qualified for the second qualifying round of the KNVB Cup at the expense of SV Urk, it only collected two points in the competition. DVS’33 drew against VVSB and RKAV Volendam and lost to SC Genemuiden and Hercules. The Ermeloans have something to put right this afternoon in the home match against Kampong. The formation from Utrecht has captured one more point so far.

3 p.m.: IJsselmeervogels – SC Genemuiden

The most beautiful poster of this match day is played in Spakenburg. SC Genemuiden recorded a resounding 4-0 win over Eemdijk last week and is doing everything they can to prove that that was not an incident. With a visit to IJsselmeervogels, coach René van der Weij’s team has the perfect opportunity to do so.

The amateur football powerhouse was relegated from the second division last season and will want to return to the highest level as soon as possible. However, SC Genemuiden can already put the team of former Urk coach Gert-Jan Karsten four points behind. Then it has to win at De Westmaat sports park.

2.30 pm: DOVO – Staphorst

Staphorst made an impression a few weeks ago by treating IJsselmeervogels to a 1-0 defeat, but was unable to give a fitting follow-up to that great victory. The formation of coach Joram Hendriks already lost to Eemdijk on the first match day and after the stunt against IJsselmeervogels things went wrong against Rijnvogels and SV Urk.

The defeat against SV Urk in particular must have hurt at Het Noorderslag sports park. Hendriks and associates were not inferior to the former islanders, but they handled their chances a lot better and won 1-4. Can Staphorst wash away the sour aftertaste of that defeat this afternoon when visiting DOVO?

2.30 pm: HHC Hardenberg – Jong Almere City

If, after four rounds in the second division, you are the only team that has not yet dropped a point, then you can safely call it a great start. HHC Hardenberg makes a strong impression in the first weeks of the season. The team of coach Pascal Diender was already too strong for Excelsior Maassluis, ACV, Jong Sparta Rotterdam and last week they defeated FC Lisse 5-0. HHC Hardenberg has already been accurate eleven times and has not yet conceded a goal.

Will it remain that way? Anyone who takes a look at the rankings would say that that chance is very real. HHC will receive a visit this afternoon from Jong Almere City, which achieved promotion to the second division last season. However, the promises from Flevoland are having a difficult start. Three of the first four competition matches were lost. However, Jong Almere City gained some self-confidence last week by beating ACV 3-1. Every effort will be made to follow up that victory at the Boshoek, but things should not go wrong for HHC this afternoon.
