Laros: ‘Much more tension than normal’
Niels Laros felt good in the training, but did not yet know what it would be worth at the FBK Games. “I had a lot more tension than normal, almost nine months ago I ran my last race,” he responded on TV. He has not played since the World Cup in Tokyo due to a ruptured Achilles tendon.

Niels Laros immediately wins his first race after six months of injuries and how! The Dutchman attacks in the last bend of the 800 meters and trumps everyone. In 1.43.83 Laros provides a beautiful next Dutch highlight in Hengelo.
Taymir Burnet just missed the podium
In the final of the men’s 100 meters, Taymir Burnet fails to reach the podium. The Dutch athlete is one hundredth of a second short with 10.12. South African Akani Simbine won in 10.08.

Another five minutes and then Femke Broeders-Bol will start! It is her second race on the 800 meters, and first in the Netherlands. Can she crown her debut on home soil in this discipline with a victory?

Klaver sprints to third place
Klaver ends in a time of 50.60 seconds. With her best time so far this year, she sprinted to third place in the 400 meters.
The victory goes to the Egyptian Bassant Hemidawhich clocks in at 50.10 seconds. She stays with that just above the track record of Femke Broeders-Bol.
Myrte van der Schoot sees itself in sixth place: 51.21. That’s a new personal record for her.
Visser wins 100 meter hurdles!
Nadine Visser has hair tenth appearance won the 100 meter hurdles at the FBK Games. The 31-year-old North Holland athlete clocked 12.52 seconds. American Alia Armstrong came second in 12.60.
Visser improved her national record to 12.28 last August.
Broeders-Bol runs the first 800 meters in the Diamond League in Paris
Athlete Femke Broeders-Bol will run her first 800 meters in the Diamond League next Sunday (June 28). The 26-year-old from Amersfoort appears at the start of the meeting in Paris. She will again compete against the Swiss Audrey Werro, with whom she dueled last Tuesday in Ostrava (Czech Republic). Broeders-Bol finished second behind Werro in 1.57.13.
Broeders-Bol has exchanged the 400 meter hurdles for the 800 meters. The last time Broeders-Bol played in the Diamond League was last summer in Zurich. There she won the final of the prestigious global competition series for the fifth time in a row and recorded her thirtieth Diamond League victory in a row in the 400 meter hurdles.
The Amersfoort native is one of the Dutch athletics top athletes at the FBK Games on Sunday. She runs the 800 meters in a sweltering Hengelo around 4:15 p.m.
Defending champion Elvis Afrifa returns at 100 meters
As defending champion, Elvis Afrifa (28) returns on Sunday in the 100 meters at the FBK Games. He runs into two of his teammates with whom he was on the 4×100 bronze won at the World Championships in Tokyo. Will the fastest man in the Netherlands please stand up?
