NEC – Ajax

Ajax kicks off the football Saturday with a visit to NEC. Can the team from Amsterdam consolidate or extend the four-point lead over PSV after the lost cup final? At 4.30 pm the ball will roll in De Goffert.

Ajax starts the away match against NEC with Kenneth Taylor, Perr Schuurs and Nicolas Tagliafico in the team. Trainer Erik ten Hag misses Lisandro Martinez and Noussair Mazraoui in Nijmegen. Edson Alvarez will be there, but will have to sit on the bench.

Jurriën Timber is the right back in De Goffert. Schuurs starts in the center of the defense, together with Daley Blind. Tagliafico is left in defence. Sébastien Haller is again preferred over Brian Brobbey and Maarten Stekelenburg defends the goal of the visitors from Amsterdam.

AZ – SC Heerenveen

From 6.45 pm it will be the turn of AZ and SC Heerenveen in Alkmaar. After FC Twente’s victory on Friday evening, AZ has to compete for third place. And so a victory over the Frisians is necessary. For the visitors, a three-pointer is important in the battle for the play-offs for European football.

RKC Waalwijk – PEC Zwolle

RKC Waalwijk can do excellent business in the fight against relegation. The people from Brabant are fourteenth, three points ahead of number 16 Sparta. The visitors from Zwolle are one place lower than the Rotterdammers with two points less. Kick-off in Waalwijk is at 8 p.m.

SC Cambuur – PSV

Knowing what leader Ajax has done, PSV will start the match in Leeuwarden against Cambuur at 9 p.m. The people of Eindhoven are in a good mood after the cup final, but they do know the necessary injuries. Cambuur is twelfth and also has to win to make the play-offs to keep European football in sight.

FC Twente – Sparta Rotterdam 2-0

After the defeat at Fortuna Sittard, Sparta lost another important away game on Friday in the battle against relegation. FC Twente was 2-0 too strong for the formation of Henk Fraser in Enschede. Ricky van Wolfswinkel (before half time) and Michel Vlap (in the second half) took care of the goals.
