Canada drops relief supplies above Gaza
Canada has dropped relief supplies above Gaza, the government of the country announced on Monday. It is about 9800 kilos of food aid for Palestinians in the area.
In a statement, Canada writes this dropping in collaboration with five other countries “because the humanitarian situation has reached an unprecedented level” in the Gaza Strip. Belgium, Germany, Egypt, Jordan and the United Arab Emirates also participated in the dropping.
It was the first time that an airplane of the Canadian Air Force itself carried out a dropping, reports the Canadian CBC News. On board included lentils, oil, milk powder and pasta.
The Netherlands announced last week that it will also cooperate in dropping relief supplies above Gaza. The first dropping with Dutch cooperation is planned for 8 August, then a dropping must take place every day for two weeks.
