The listeners of Radio Finland who responded to the Iltalehti survey feel that there are no more local news.
YLE’s change negotiations cause many savings. Outi Järvinen
– Before Radio Finland was always on, but now I became a big disappointment and unexpectedly not asking! We want to listen to things in our area on the radio, there will be enough channels from other channels, one of the readers of Iltalehti in the survey.
– I’ve listened and I’m not happy at all. There is no provincial issue, a woman, but she is bustling with a monotonous voice, the other continued.
– Localism has completely disappeared. The exchange went, the third complain.
In particular, Iltalehti asked about the feelings of Radio Finland’s listeners about the change in the software. The survey quickly accumulated over 150 responses and most readers are disappointing in their response.
The reason for the savings
Radio Finland’s software experienced major changes early in the year as a result of YLE’s change negotiations, when all provincial broadcasts were ended. The reason for the change is the extensive savings of YLE as the funding of YLE has been cut. Iltalehti readers who responded to the survey do not comment on the cuts in finance, but apparently local news reporting is the wrong destination for them and saved something else.
For example, in the survey, the inhabitants of Lapland say they are not interested in listening to the news of Southern Finland.
– The closure of regional radios is a big, big mistake from YLE. I’ve listened to 9 hours a day on the radio. I don’t listen anymore because the news is not interested in Southern Finland with that accuracy.
– High strength has been location. Lapland’s issues are not reported from Tampere. It is absurd to listen to things related to the Helsinki Metro in Kittilä.
– Really disappointed with change. The radio has always been open and the local programs have been good and interesting and also helping (traffic, weather, snowstorms, weather in the fell and so on). Not interested in Lahti mouse problems. Otherwise, we are quite isolated and now the local radio was taken.
– I drove by car in the northernmost Lapland and had to listen to the southern dialect for hours. There was no heard at all: mie, met, but I wouldn’t go. Heavy to hear all the time, you and other slang words in the southern.
