In the former Steps building we can now shop at the Sandwich clothing store. Clearance posters hang in front of the windows and the inside of the store does not look the same as we are used to from Sandwich. Is this clothing store going to disappear again or is something else going on?

In 2020, all Sandwich stores filed for bankruptcy, but a new store opened in April 2021 in the former Steps building in Zoetermeer. Some visitors to the Stadshart now wonder whether the current store will still exist, because there is a large-scale sale.
Stock sample sale
What seems? It is a stock sample sale where you can buy beautiful clothes for very attractive prices. Marketing employee Els van Sandwich explains: “In this branch we are selling timeless autumn clothing this week, of which we still have a lot of stock. We announced the sale on social media and on the first day there was a line through the shopping street. Until Sunday 30 October, Zoetermeer residents can buy nice clothes for attractive prices.” For accessories such as necklaces, belts and shawls you pay 10 euros this week, for trousers, dresses, tunics, jackets and cardigans 30 euros. The maximum price is 85 euros for a winter coat.
Long line at the door
From Monday 31 October Sandwich will change into an outlet store. Els: “In addition to the branches in Rosada Outlet and Batavia Stad, Zoetermeer will also have an outlet store. Customers here buy the collection from a year earlier for great prices. This store fits right in with the Zoetermeerse Stadshart where many bargain hunters shop. We could tell by the long queue in front of the door during the first day of the stock sample sale.”
