“Then I expect that too”

The night race in Schladming did not go as DSV star Linus Straßer imagined. After that, he did not save criticism.
During the venerable night race in Schladming (Austria) on the Planai, the German skier Linus Straßer missed the podium on Wednesday evening – even though he was in the lead after the first run. Straßer commented critically after the race about his coach Stefan Kogler, who was responsible for the course of the course.
“Simply incomprehensible. I try to keep the whole thing very normal and do nothing special. This is always the art and then I actually expect that from my trainers,” said the 32-year-old immediately after the race. In the end, Straßer became fourth, the Norwegian Simon Haugan won the night.
In itself, it is an advantage if your own trainer is allowed to set the course – and that was the most annoyed Straßer: “If you already have the advantage and then do not use it or so can – but be it.” Particularly bitter: In 2022 and 2024, Straßer won the race on the Planai, the route is actually located. After all, despite the missed podium, it was the best result of his season so far.
