The anniversary edition of the second Linkin Park album METEORA from 2003 will be released on April 7th. Last Friday (March 24th) the band released a new song with previously unknown material from the time the record was made. It’s called “Fighting Myself” and features vocal passages by the late Chester Bennington in the chorus. Mike Shinoda, who raps the parts as before, said about the creation that he reassembled the material of the unfinished track.

Already on February 10th a single from the new edition was released with “Lost”. It also contained previously unknown passages by Bennington. The visualizers for both titles were created with the help of artificial intelligence and both serve an anime theme.

The new version of METEORA should contain new tracks as well as demo versions and live recordings. Shinoda recently ruled out the possibility of replacing Bennington with a hologram on any future tours. He committed suicide in 2017.
