Linda Evangelista had breast cancer

Top model Linda Evangelista had to be treated for breast cancer. After surgery, radiation and chemotherapy, she has a good prognosis today, the 58-year-old told the Wall Street Journal. Although there is a chance that the cancer will return, Evangelista is positive and is “in a party mood.”

The cancer was first discovered in December 2018 during her annual mammogram. She then had both breasts removed “without hesitation,” Evangelista said, according to the report. “I thought I was healthy and ready for life. Breast cancer wouldn’t kill me.”

However, in July 2022, Evangelista discovered another lump in her breast – the cancer had returned in her pectoral muscle. She underwent further treatments. “I just went into this mode that I know – just do what you have to do and see it through. And that’s exactly what I did,” said the top model.

The Canadian, who also made a failed cosmetic operation public two years ago, was one of the most successful and famous top models in the world, especially in the 80s and 90s. (dpa)
