Linda de Mol receives loads of criticism for her new drama series Five Live. Especially the scene in which she has a fictional version of Angela de Jong crash causes disapproval. “So sad.”

Linda de Mol’s new drama series about the television world, Five Live, is a grandiose failure in terms of content. Viewers’ reactions to this AliExpress version of De TV Kantine are scathing. According to them, there is only one possible conclusion: this amateur theater is a stain on the career of the fallen TV queen.

Fake Angela

Especially the fact that Linda uses her drama series to fight her personal feud with Angela de Jong causes annoyance. A fictional version of the opinion diva was performed yesterday in the first episode of Five Live: Ellen Boetselaar. And it was not exactly spared.

Linda plays a talk show host in the series and she absolutely does not want this Ellen in her talk show: “Ellen Boetselaar? No, guys, not that bourgeois bitch who thinks he knows everything about everything. With those silly columns from her.”

studio lamp

In the end, this fake Angela, played by Irene Moors, still joins. “You’re having that conversation with that Ellen Boetselaar, aren’t you? I don’t attract that woman like that and I didn’t want her at all,” Linda’s character tells her co-host.

Linda’s character reacts fiercely when the fake Angela interrupts a conversation during the broadcast to give her opinion: “I’d rather we let each other finish, Ellen. This is a conversation, it is not a column and if it is necessary I like to interrupt myself, in my way.”

Then suddenly a studio lamp falls on the fake Angela, who then falls forward on the table, apparently dead. The blood spatter is on the face of Linda’s character and that of her co-host.

‘This is very sad’

TV viewer Lianne thinks Linda misses the point with this. “You can really hate Angela de Jong, but letting a look-a-like die in a series is going too far, isn’t it? Snow,” she tweeted.

It’s no secret that Linda hates Angela, whom she finds “sad” and “intensely cheating.” Apparently this is her way of taking revenge, says Televizier journalist Jef Willemsen. “Rarely seen such gaudy see-through vendetta TV. You show yourself very well, even if it is all meant with a wink.”

And TV viewer Jordy: “What is most surprising: so many people who work on such a production and nobody who shouts: ‘Hey Linda, very nice and nice, but that rip-off by Angela de Jong with a lamp on her end your head at the end, would you do that?’. I am really surprised.”

‘What a bad series’

Not just this scene, but Linda’s entire series has been criticized a lot. “What an incredibly bad series ?”, says Story journalist Nick Dijkman.

TV connoisseur Rob Goossens was very enthusiastic about the previews in RTL Boulevard, but takes everything back. He speaks of a ‘bitter first episode’. “I kind of feel like I’m going to have to apologize tomorrow for my enthusiastic story about Five Live.”

Professional TV viewer Victor Hopman finds it an embarrassment: “Linda has forgotten about acting, I think they forgot to write a story and Waldemar plays too exaggerated. What a drama this is.”

Viewing figures

Five Live was on the menu immediately after the ratings hit Miljoenenjacht yesterday and has therefore got off to a good start, with 987 thousand viewers and a 20 percent market share. The big question, however, is how many people are dropping out now.
