‘Linda de Mol happy on TV while rape case is ongoing? fake!’

It is completely unbelievable that Linda de Mol returns to Ik Hou Van Holland while the rape case against her lover is still ongoing, says AD star journalist Marcus den Blanken.

Because of the drama surrounding her beloved Jeroen Rietbergen, Linda de Mol has missed one season as a presenter of the super cheerful Ik Hou Van Holland. Now she returns to the show and the timing is striking: the Public Prosecution Service has officially decided to prosecute Jeroen for rape.

Merry Linda

Can Linda screech happily on television when an alleged victim of your loved one is sitting on the couch at home? Critics think not. And media journalist Marcus den Blanken thinks that her appearance will not be credible in any case, he says in the latest episode of the AD Media podcast.

Marcus is amazed. “It surprised me a bit because Jeroen Rietbergen is being prosecuted and she wouldn’t go on TV completely heppie-de-peppie then, I think. Of course, the two are just kind of tied together. It doesn’t matter exactly how that happens. Then you have and that it works and in the meantime you are acting very cheerful at Ik Hou van Holland.”

Heppie-de-peppie

AD diva Angela de Jong thinks about this in a more nuanced way. “But Miljoenenjacht is also running, isn’t she doing heppie-de-peppie there too?”

Marcus: “Yes, but that’s different. Miljoenenjacht is about sympathizing with a candidate who may win five million. I Love Holland is just really pure entertainment, making me happy.”

Fellow journalist Dennis Jansen: “Yes, does she have to crawl under a blanket?”

Marcus: “No, no, no. Doing a million-dollar hunt.”

No alternative

According to Angela, Linda can do little else. “Yes, but that’s twelve episodes a year. And there is no alternative. I think if that weird Five Live hadn’t flopped so much, she might have again. Or something else, if she had another title up her sleeve. But of course there is nothing else. She has Miljoenenjacht and I Love Holland.”

She continues: “And if she wants to boost her image, she will have to come up with a few big successful shows again. Then the chance with Ik Hou van Holland is of course the greatest.”

Unbelievable

Marcus is skeptical. “Yes, but do you think that will still work? Of course I love Holland has been declining for years.”

Angela: “Well, that she wants to do that again, I understand that.”

Dennis: “And I also understand that SBS wants it.”

Marcus finds it implausible, a little fake: “Still, I wouldn’t have done it, because as a viewer I don’t believe it.”

Dennis: “Well, well, she didn’t do anything, did she?”

“Not sincere!”

Marcus: “No, no, but it really has nothing to do with Linda doing or not doing something. It’s not about what Linda did or didn’t do, it’s about what I’m looking at as a viewer. I’m not judging her, I’m not saying she’s involved in anything. She’s in a situation and when I look at her, I don’t believe it. I don’t think she means it cheerfully sincere.”

Angela: “It will be spicy when it is broadcast and that lawsuit against Jeroen is also running immediately.”

Marcus: “Exactly.”

Angela: “Well, I think they are there safe with it, because I believe it can take another year and then Ik Hou van Holland will have already been on the screen.”
