It kept him busy for five hours. “It’s been a long time,” says Jeroen Zaagman from Emmen. But the result is impressive. An understatement. His white car is unique on Dutch roads. Hundreds of lights in many colors decorate his white car. No ride will be the same in the coming weeks.

Instagram served as a source of inspiration. “I saw videos there. And then I thought: ‘I want that with my car too.’ I just googled it and stuck everything on it,” says Jeroen. No sooner said than done. But at the seats he has put together an ingenious switching chain that ensures that the lights switch on.

The lights are turned on using an inverter and an extension cord. From that moment on the run-up begins. “I really like it, but I wouldn’t want to drive it,” says a passerby who is enjoying an oliebol. “I’m far too afraid to cause damage, because I think other road users will be distracted by the lights. But I think it’s nice.”

And Jeroen receives those compliments more often. “People love it. They often ask if they can take a photo next to the car. That makes it really beautiful, that’s what it is for.”
