The bloated tournament in the United States is still a vehement opposition. A high functional is now becoming clear.

La-Liga President Javier Tebas has expressed sharp criticism of the club world championship. During a lecture at the University of Eunei in Vitoria-Gastei on Wednesday, the head of Spain’s highest division called the tournament “harmful” for the game plan and announced: “I will do everything so that it does not take place again.”

The league boss complained that the introduction was not coordinated with other competitions. He refused to relocate Real Madrid at the start of the season – that a shame on the transfer rights, Tebas continues.

Even more: Tebas criticized the tournament’s premiums as “outrageous”. They led to the distortion of competition. Large clubs “ask for longer breaks, but there they earn 140 million euros, twice as much as the budget of Alavés (La-Liga-Club, editor’s note), and still demand additional rest days. We lose the perspective.”

The new Champions League structure also sees Tebas critically. Nevertheless, he rejects a reduction in its own league from 20 to 18 clubs, since free appointments are filled with other game systems anyway.
