The Algerian woman who raped, tortured and murdered 12-year-old Lola in 2022 has been sentenced to life in prison. 27-year-old Dahbia Benkired is not eligible for a reduced sentence or leave, and therefore receives the maximum sentence in France. The ruling followed the demand of the Public Prosecution Service, which had pointed out the “extreme nature” of the actions and the suffering they caused the girl and her family.
