It could be a movie. The genre is difficult to classify: it is halfway between a sketch comedy and a Greek tragedy. In any case, it is clear that La Libertad Avanza always makes people talk. To the infernal internship that swallowed up a large part of the founding members was now added the very serious denunciations of the former president of the libertarian youth, Mila Zubriggen.
AND all sources of conflict point in the same direction: to a space that would sell his positions, to a leader who does not move except for money, and to an army in which women are supposedly targeted for doing “sexual favors” or who stand out on the networks for their hot photos. But none of that borders on the candidacy of javier milei, the anti-caste man who grows in all the polls. The show must go on.

The message is from the beginning of November. It’s a private chat with Karina Milei, the sister of the leader and who has an enormous weight on the army and on the brain of the economist. Especially with everything that she has to do with money: she is the one who collects, who distributes, and who sets the prices. In this conversation that NEWS accessed, this was made very clear.
“Hello how are you? So much time”, starts Karina. The WhatsApp dialogue occurred because the source revealing the exchange wanted to introduce certain people from the red circle to the deputy. But “the boss”, as Milei calls her, had other plans. “I don’t know if you know, but those dinners are paid. If not, Javier doesn’t go, ”answers the sister. How much does a meeting with the deputy cost? The numbers vary depending on who you ask, but they go from three thousand to ten thousand dollars per meeting as they admit from the space itself. “This is how a party is financed, everyone does it, where is the problem?” asks a consultant close to Milei.
It is a truth that raises some questions. How is Milei holding up? Before being a candidate for deputy, he lived in a two-room apartment in Abasto, after the campaign he moved to a flirty country house in Benavídez. This doubt is coupled with the fact that he does not have a formal salary: he resigned from his job as manager of Aeropuertos Argentina 2000, Eduardo Eurnenekian’s company, on December 9, 2021, hours before assuming his bench. Since then -as he advertises every time he does- he “donates” the salary he receives as a deputy. Miley? Will he live off what he earns at these dinners? Does he “give away” his salary thanks to the fact that he charges fortunes for these meetings?
About the management of the funds of the space came the criticisms of the first one who left, Carlos Maslaton. The lawyer was one of those who prompted Milei to make the leap into politics, but in the middle of 2022 he left the party with harsh criticism. “They installed internal fascism in La Libertad Avanza. They privileged the sale of candidacies for money over the actual political assembly. Why do they charge for Milei’s visits? Why did they get corrupted?he says, and points out that the deputy not only bills private meetings but also asks for money from the militants who want to summon him for a party act.

All discussions end in the same place: how will the national list be put together and the provincial lists of Milei for this year. Although at first glance it might seem like a fight of egos, it is exactly the opposite: despite the fact that nobody imagines the libertarian being President by the end of the year, the 18 or 20 points that the polls predict make him the goose that lays the eggs of gold. All those who go to the top of the legislative lists, for provincial deputies or councilors, will end up obtaining a more than profitable job for at least four years.
That reality is true for all parties with a chance in the elections, but in The case of La Libertad Avanza has a particularity. It is that there the method in how the charges are distributed is anything but transparent. It is not based on merit, because of the votes it can contribute, because of the militants or the armed forces, as happens in other spaces. That is why the bomb that Zurgbriggen exploded, which is the main reference of a national group of young people called “The Generation”, brought so much tail: it was an issue that It had been highly debated behind closed doors.

This front is not different from any, it does not offer anything new. Javier, who has an air of messianism, played with our hopes and took advantage of our youth. He is a person who does not listen and who betrayed his most loyal people for money and dirty people, ”he says. And he also focuses on “sluts”, as she says, “witches and prostitutes who are assigned positions for which he does not give them.”
She does not want to give names, but from her space they point to Juliana Santillán, Buenos Aires shipowner, to Maria Celeste Ponce, a leader of the group “Pumas Libertarios”, and Lourdes Palavecino, another militant, three women with a very active profile in the networks where they usually upload hot photos. They also mention the case of a militant from Avellaneda, who at the time claimed to be the owner of La Libertad Avanza in that town, Silvina Soria, a “sexual influencer” who uploads erotic content to her networks. However, there is no evidence to support the thesis that they occupy a place in the army for doing “sexual favors.”
Long live freedom?
Close to Milei they absolutely denied all the accusations. It’s a statement, accused Zurbriggen of being “greedy for positions and economic benefits”, and minimized the accusations about the “sluts”. “They do what they want with their body and with their networks, there is nothing wrong there,” they say. In any case, something must have affected the deputy: in a friendly interview free of cross-examination on the LN + channel, Milei implied that Zurbriggen was responding to Maslatón, his now staunch enemy, an accusation that does not withstand the slightest file.
On the side of the first expelled from La Libertad Avanza the issue also escalated. “The space is paying the price of having been filled with marginals whose sole purpose was to take a slice of the cake and whose only ‘contribution’ has been to defame their own. In this climate, the libertarian space is approaching the elections. Who best defined it was a recognized militant within the armed forces, who is within the group “The Allies Advance” and that on Twitter appears as @Sagazluna. In a thread, in which he also criticized Maslatón and Zurbriggen, he assured: “There was a difficulty in sustaining the idea that we were going to shoot the caste while closing with the caste in all the districts.
