Liam Gallagher spoke up after a fan was brought to the stage at a Green Day concert and played the Oasis song “Wonderwall” instead of the punk classic “Good Riddance”. Someone published a clip of the incident on X, which led to Billie Joe Armstrong threw his fan off the stage – whereupon Gallagher mockingly commented: “Best song of the evening.”
Incident at Green Day
During the concert in Luxembourg, Armstrong took a young man onto the stage to play “Good Riddance” on the guitar-a tradition at Green-Day appearances. But instead of the expected song, the fan started with “Wonderwall”. Armstrong initially thought that the guest played the song only in the wrong key, gave him some quick instructions and even joked: “You told me you can play!”
The guitarist then unmistakably started with “Wonderwall”. And once played through the lead episode before Armstrong noticed what was going on. “Oh, fuck!” The front man called out. Snatched his guitar back. And the guest was immediately accompanied by the stage.
Oasis before Reunion tour
Oasis is currently preparing for their highly expected reunion tour, which starts on July 4th in Cardiff, Wales. The tour combines the brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher after years of dispute. And leads to speculation about whether more comes from the band after the concerts. 41 appearances in Great Britain, Ireland, North America, Asia, Australia and South America are planned.
At the beginning of this week, Oasis also terminated a deluxe edition for the 30th anniversary of her legendary album (What’s the Story) Morning Glory? to. On which there is also “Wonderwall”.
