Failed ex-world champion
“White me”: Hamilton does not want to end at Ferrari like Vettel

At Ferrari, Sebastian Vettel and Fernando Alonso wanted to win titles in the past – unsuccessfully. Lewis Hamilton does not want to join the statistics.
Lewis Hamilton faces a special challenge – and he knows that exactly: Ferrari has already failed some big names. Now the Formula 1 record champion wants to prove that there is another way. Before the Grand Prix of Belgium, the seven -time world champion was combative.
Hamilton emphasized that he did not want to enter the series of former world champions who have remained without a title at Ferrari. “I refuse that this is the case with me, so I’m also trying to do,” said the 40-year-old. Names like Sebastian Vettel and Fernando Alonso had not been able to get any further World Cup title with the Scuderia-despite great expectations.
Hamilton has been driving for Ferrari since the beginning of the year. The big goal is still the eighth title – a success that the Tifosi has been waiting for since Kimi Raikkönen’s triumph in 2007. But the first half of the season has so far been mixed for Hamilton. A sprint victory in China in March was the previous highlight, most recently he ended up fourth at the home race in Silverstone – behind Nico Hülkenberg in the clean. In the World Cup classification, Hamilton is in sixth place with 103 points, teammate Charles Leclerc is with 119 points.
However, the Brit is no doubt about its will to work. “I really believe in the potential of this team,” he said. Nevertheless, he knows that time is pushing. For the big goal, he “doesn’t have that much time anymore,” said Hamilton – it is now “crunchtime”.
Ferrari equipped the SF-25 with new parts for the race in Spa. However, Hamilton brakes the great hope for this. Because there is only training on Friday during the sprint weekend, it is “very, very difficult” to test the updates correctly. The announced rain is also likely to make the coordination work more difficult.
