The qualities of Niclas Füllkrug as a “nine” in the German national team have not escaped the attention of two-time world footballer Robert Lewandowski.
“If you’re a striker, you have to have this instinct,” said the former Bayern Munich striker. “I’ve already seen that he’s scored a few goals this season.”
Füllkrug “scored a great goal” in the German team’s 1-1 draw against Spain on the second day of group play, said the Polish captain after the 2-0 defeat against Argentina at the World Cup in Qatar: “If there’s a striker on the pitch, it’s always different.”
Lewandowski, seven-time top scorer in the Bundesliga, also believes that the DFB team will reach the round of 16.
