The American clothing provider Levi Strauss & Co. has tightened its management structures. On Tuesday, the company presented the new distribution of tasks in the management team.
The aim of the measure is to increase the “speed and flexibility”, according to a message. Among other things, decision -making processes would be accelerated and the company structures are adapted to the “strategic priorities”.
Numerous managers take on additional tasks
Numerous managers received additional areas of responsibility in the course of the structural reform. Chief Product Officer Karyn Hillman is no longer just responsible for the design, but also for merchandising. Jason Gowans’ area of responsibility has also been expanded. In the future, he will be responsible for all digital activities within the company as Chief Digital and Technology Officer.
In addition to his previous tasks, Chief Financial and Growth Officer Harmit Singh also took responsibility for the transformation program with which the company structures are to be made more efficient. Chief Commercial Officer Gianluca Flore will also be responsible for the areas of licensing and planning.
Chief Operations Officer Liz O’Neill, the new HR will come from Nike
The company also announced Bernard Bedon’s appointment as Chief Human Resources Officer. He will start his new position on March 3 and report directly to CEO Michelle Gass in the future. Bedon comes from the sporting goods group Nike Inc., in which he had held various management positions in the HR area in recent years.
Chief Operations Officer Liz O’Neill, on the other hand, will leave Levi Strauss after almost twelve years. As part of the structural reform, its previous role will be replaced by the new post of Chief Supply Chain Officer, the company said. The aim of the decision is to make the supply chains faster, more flexible and more efficient.
