Leverkusen and Liverpool are still a bit apart for the transfer fee for Florian Wirtz. The Bundesliga club apparently has an idea.

Florian Wirtz’s upcoming transfer to Liverpool FC is still stalling. Bayer Leverkusen is said to have rejected the first two offers of the English master for the German international. Initially, Liverpool had apparently offered 100 million euros, plus 15 million euros in bonus payments. The second offer is said to have in turn with a total volume of 130 million euros, with 118 million euros of which would have been the fixed transfer fee.

So there are now 20 million euros between what Liverpool would have been willing to pay and what Bayer Leverkusen imagines. As reportedly, Wirtz should bring in a total of 150 million euros.

According to the “kicker”, there are now two options for how both parties could finally get together in the Wirtz deal. One of them would therefore be to go into further rounds of negotiations in order to get closer again with regard to the sum. However, the second option that the Pay TV station Sky also reports should be more exciting: the idea of involving a Liverpool professional in the deal.

Specifically, Leverkusen would not only collect a high transfer fee for Wirtz, but also receive a player from the “Reds”, who will then be offset against the overall package. The “kicker” brings Harvey Elliott into play in this context. Sky confirms that he plays a role in Leverkusen’s considerations. The highly assessed 22-year-old was deployed 28 times last season, scored five goals and gave three templates. However, the competition in Liverpool’s offensive is enormous, Elliott (market value 30 million euros) is usually only replaced.

With a commitment from Florian Wirtz, the chances of operating times for the English U21 international should not necessarily increase. But whether he would actually want to join Leverkusen: unclear.

According to Sky information, there is also another Liverpool player that Leverkusen has on the note. It is Jarell Quansah. Like Elliott, the central defender (market value 20 million euros) is only sporadically used in his current club. There are 25 competitive games last season.

There should be no final decision in terms of a possible exchange deal, Sky writes. The conversations would continue.
