The German champion Bayer Leverkusen fulfilled his duty at the Bundesliga last Holstein Kiel. The team of coach Xabi Alonso came to a safe 2-0 (2-0) against the overwhelmed North Germans. In the first half of the season, the Kieler at Bayer had surprised with a 2-2.
Before the Bundesliga top game against Eintracht Frankfurt, the Leverkuseners had to shine next Saturday and the round of 16 in the Champions League against Bayern Munich in order to remain unbeaten for the 21st time.

With a triple pack by Alexis Claude-Maurice and a record series, FC Augsburg has left the relegation zone far behind in the Bundesliga and ended Borussia Mönchengladbach’s success series. The guests remained undefeated in the seventh league game with the 3-0 (0: 0) success on the Lower Rhine, but also benefited from the early red card against Gladbach’s goalkeeper Jonas Omlin (28th minute). So far, the Augsburgers have only achieved such a series in the 2015/16 season.
The Gladbacher, who were undefeated before the game, fell back in the race for the international starting places. Remis in Wolfsburg: Bochum missed the first away win
VfL Bochum lacked only a few minutes in the relegation battle. At the European League candidate VfL Wolfsburg, the recently strengthened relegation candidate only conceded the goal for 1-1 (0: 0) in the final phase. A week after the derby victory against Borussia Dortmund, VfL just missed the next surprise.
