Leonie ter Braak says she does not understand what is being said about her by the men of Today Inside. “That’s not right. I really never said that.”
Leonie ter Braak’s television transfer has not made much of an impression so far. She switched from SBS 6 to RTL 4, where she started with a program about balloons: Blow Up. After the first season, Chantal Janzen dropped out and that cast-off ended up in the hands of newcomer Leonie. A lousy start of course.
‘It was bullshit’
Leonie has been quite attacked by critics about it. “It was fun to make, yes, but it was also bullshit,” she says in the New Year’s Eve special of Dear viewers.
Host Ruben Nicolai: “You mean the opinions about the program?”
Leonie: “Yes, that is also part of it. Of course it was also a bit of an open goal. A balloon program… The first season was already very bad and then of course we will do a second season… I think the men of VI have come back to it every week.”
More content
Ruben explains what the men of VI keep saying about her. “Yes, they kept saying that you said: ‘I’m leaving SBS and I’m going to RTL because I want to make more substantive programs.’”
What nonsense, says Leonie. “Yes, I never said that.”
Ruben: “We looked that up.”
Leonie: “Oh, did I say it?”
Beau lashes out
Ruben reassures her. “You didn’t say that anywhere. At least we couldn’t find it.”
Leonie: “No, right?”
Then fellow guest Beau van Erven Dorens lashes out at the VI trio, including his arch-enemy Wilfred Genee: “Are you surprised, Ruben, that their facts are not completely in order?”
It leads to laughter in the studio. “Jesus! How long have we been looking at those people?! Come on, Ruben!”
