Leitl change to Hanover almost perfect

The change of the Fürth coach Stefan Leitl to the second division football club Hannover 96 is imminent.

“That depends on a few dates. But in principle it can go very quickly,” confirmed Hanover’s majority shareholder Martin Kind of the “Neue Presse” newspaper.

According to the 78-year-old, Leitl has given his consent and the terms of the change with his current club SpVgg Greuther Fürth have also been clarified. The 44-year-old can leave the Bundesliga relegated early this summer because of an exit clause in his contract, which runs until 2023.

“Leitl thinks 96 is a good Bundesliga address, he has clear ideas about that,” said Kind. With this new coach, the Lower Saxony want to aim for a return to the first division with reinforcements such as Phil Neumann (Holstein Kiel) or Fabian Kunze (Arminia Bielefeld) and a total budget of around 40 million euros.
