Loss of 4th place threatens

A coach Marco Rose, which is predominantly motionless on the edge of the field, has delivered another disappointing performance in the Bundesliga with RB Leipzig. The offensive, bleak 0: 0 of the Saxons at FC Augsburg, which remained undefeated for the sixth time, was by no means a recommendation for the next move into the Champions League at the start of the 22nd match day.

VfB Stuttgart could displace Leipziger from fourth place on Saturday with a home win against Wolfsburg. Roses team offered a football that had little to do with the Red Bull DNA, which was characterized by speed, energy and pressing.

In the end, the guests were even lucky that Augsburg’s Frank Onyeka from 13 meters in a central position slid the ball past the Leipzig goal (82nd). And then they were in bad luck when the substitute Kosta Nedeljkovic headed to the crossbar in added time. The FCA earned a total of 28 years of the season with decent work.

The fourth of the table lacked the ball in the ball of footballing ideas and moments of surprise. The guests did not get big opportunities around the less creative Xavi Simons. There was nothing to be seen by striker Benjamin Sesko. Loïs Openda sat on the bench for over an hour until he replaced the ineffective Christoph Baumgartner as an additional striker. The joker also didn’t stab.

Defense player Lutsharel Geertruida shot dangerously from a distance in the first half (11th minute). National player David Raum checked FCA goalkeeper Finn Dahmen (28th). But real pressure only built Roses team in a few mini phases after the half-time break.

Dahmen, however, reacted well at the conclusion of ex-international Lukas Klostermann, who represented the suspended Willi Orban as defense chief (47.). And Simons missed the Augsburg goal just from 18 meters (49th). The will to force the important away win was not recognizable.

And the Augsburger? They stood defensively compact in front of 28,260 fans and were even more determined every now and then. To do this, they once vehemently demanded a penalty, but in vain when Leipzig’s Ridle Baku bounced the ball with Marius Wolf to the upper arm in a duel (25th).

Alexis Claude-Maurice forced Leipzig’s experienced goalkeeper Peter Gulacsi in the 39th minute with a treacherous bump into a parade. In the second half, the very present Kristijan Jakic came to a header chance in midfield, but Gulacsi was back on the post (73.).
