Great honor, great trouble. LEGO for Black Sabbath for the solemn occasion of her final concert on Saturday (July 5, 2025) in Birmingham just thrown a set on the market that Ozzy Osbourne, Geezer Butler and Tony Iommi shows on stage in action pose.
Looks great. Horny metal figures. But: the fans get upset. Possibly rightly. Because whoever designed Black Sabbath’s Lego figures was probably not a 100 percent expert on the band.
Let’s go: “Blasphemian … Mini-Tony is right-handed … and swings something as an insult that looks like a stratocaster …” writes the first on Facebook. Right: Iommi actually plays a Gibson SG.
Right -wing man? Left -handed? Without shirt?
“TSSSK. If the Tony Iommi is supposed to be, then he would have to be left -handed,” writes the next one.
“I’m sorry, Lego, you made a mistake. Tony is left -handed, so the guitar is around. I am not sure what geezer ‘plays’, but it doesn’t look like a bass.”
And it goes on: “Why is geezer without a shirt?”
So: A lot on the Black Sabbath set from Lego angered the fans. It is not enough if the faces look awesome, but presence, pose and handedness are not correct.
Yes, Tony Iommi is left -handed
Tony Iommi plays guitar left -handed, which is also one of his trademarks. After an accident at work in his youth, he lost the pointed two fingers on his right hand (which he needs to use the handle board during the left -hand game). In order to be able to play the guitar, he developed his own plastic prostheses and voted his guitar deeper to reduce the string pressure – which contributed decisively to Black Sabbath and thus laid the foundation for the heavy metal.
That is why a fan writes about the Lego-Iommi: “And his right hand should have a prosthesis for two fingers.”
Is there the set to buy? It can currently be seen in the Legoland Discovery Center in Birmingham. If it is supposed to be on the market, you can still repair the errors.
