LeGer brings Arndt Brockmann into the management board

The new year begins with changes in the management of LeGer GmbH.

Arndt Brockmann is said to have officially taken over the management of LeGer GmbH at the beginning of January, the textile industry reported on Monday. According to the industry magazine, he will from now on strengthen the management team consisting of Lena Gercke and About You Co-CEO Tarek Müller and take care of the operational business.

Brockmann confirmed the personal details on his profile on the LinkedIn careers network, but states that he has been CEO of LeGer since November. In a post on Tuesday, Brockmann thanked Gercke and Müller for their trust. Brockmann writes that he is looking forward to continuing the success story of the fashion label together with the LeGer by Lena Gercke team. It is not clear from his posting whether he will act as the sole managing director in the future.

About You and LeGer GmbH have not yet responded to a request from FashionUnited.

LeGer should go its own way

In 2017, Gercke LeGer started together with Otto subsidiary About You. Four years later, in May 2021, LeGer GmbH was founded from the already existing operational partnership between the two parties. Since then, the fashion label has been sold under its own roof. Now it seems as if the independence of the brand will be further expanded.

According to the textile industry, LeGer will be responsible for sourcing and sales in the future and, in addition to the hitherto exclusive sales via About You, other sales channels, both online and stationary, are to follow. Partnerships at the concession level are conceivable for brick-and-mortar retail, the industry magazine reports, adding that the brand’s focus remains on the previous direct-to-consumer model.

Return to a managerial position in the fashion industry

For Arndt Brockmann, the new position as managing director also means a return to a managerial position in the fashion industry. His LinkedIn profile shows that he gained his first professional experience at Hugo Boss and Strenesse before working for Puma as Retail Manager EMEA for two and a half years. From 2007 to 2011, he held a general management position at Zara’s parent company Inditex, after which Brockmann worked as Director International Retail at S.Oliver for just under a year and a half. He then worked as Managing Director Germany at Esprit until June 2017, before dedicating himself to his work as a consultant and since then serving as a member of the advisory boards of several companies.
