Legal battle between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard resumes on Monday: “Hopefully he can get on with his life soon” | celebrities

celebritiesAmber Heard (35) will be a little less active on social media in the coming weeks. The ‘Aquaman’ actress herself announced this on Instagram. On Monday she will meet her ex Johnny Depp (58) in court. The lawsuit was prompted by an article by Heard that appeared in The Washington Post in 2018. “But I never mentioned his name,” said the actress.

Heard, 35, and Depp, 58, who were married from 2015 to 2017, will meet in Virginia court on Monday. The actor has sued his ex for defamation following an article she wrote in 2018 in The Washington Post about domestic violence that she says she has experienced. Heard does not mention Depp’s name in the message, but according to the actor it is obvious that she means him. The actress previously accused him of having loose hands, something he denies.

“I never mentioned his name and wrote about the price women pay for speaking out against men in power. I’m still paying that price, but hopefully when this case is closed I can move on with my life and so can Johnny,” Heard wrote on Instagram. Due to the lawsuit, she will also not post anything on social media in the coming weeks.

a lot of support

It also “hurts” Amber Heard that she has been involved in a legal battle with her ex-husband Johnny Depp for years. The actress hates that she has to “relive the details of their lives together in front of the world”. The actress is therefore grateful for all the support she has had during the matter. “And in the coming weeks I will need it more than ever.”

Last year, the two also faced each other in court in London. Depp then lost a case against British tabloid The Sun over an article calling him a “wife-beater.” The judge ruled that there was no libel because he felt that there was insufficient evidence that the actor had not mistreated his ex. Heard had been brought in as a witness by The Sun and told her story in court about her alleged abusive ex-husband.
