Over 40 thousand points in 21 seasons, yet another achievement for an extraterrestrial who left a high school in Akron to change the world of the NBA
Forty thousand points. Forty thousand. Even just writing it is impressive, it seems impossible, a typo, yet LeBron James really scored them. 40,017, to be exact. Yet another historic milestone, achieved in front of his audience, in Los Angeles, at the Lakers’ home against Denver, leaves one astonished. Will anyone ever be able to emulate him or is he one of those destined to remain in the record books “forever”, as they say in fairy tales with happy endings? LeBron achieved it in game number 1474 in the NBA, he started all but two of them. In twenty-one seasons, 11 for the Cleveland Cavaliers, 6 for the Lakers, in fact, 4 for the Miami Heat, from 2003 to 2024. LeBron’s 40,000 points like Novak Djokovic’s 24 Grand Slam tournaments, like Cristiano’s 877 goals Ronaldo: unthinkable, incredible sports numbers, considered impossible until yesterday. Yet it’s all true. And the counting continues… who knows when he will stop. James still runs fast: his pace is certainly not a performance pace or a final farewell pace.
