After the allegations were made public on Sunday, December 8th, Jay-Z didn’t wait long before firing back with an angry statement. In the statement, he firmly denies the allegations and insults the lawyer Tony Buzbee, who represents the alleged victim. He calls the Texas lawyer not only a “deplorable person,” but also a fraud.
They’re not intimidated by Jay-Z
In the meantime, Buzbee also made a comment on the events that occurred. He posted his statement on X, emphasizing that he was proud of his client’s determination to go to war against Jay-Z. Jay-Z bullied and harassed his client, who allegedly only asked for confidential mediation, and Buzbee himself. The rap mogul apparently tried to silence the client. The attorney ends this statement by saying, “As to the allegations in the filed lawsuit, we will let the lawsuit speak for itself and fight the facts in court and not in the media.”
A war of words on social media
Buzbee has now responded to Jay-Z’s heated statement. On “What you are witnessing now is a coordinated and desperate attempt to draw public attention to me personally in order to prevent my clients’ allegations from being discussed. These efforts include harassing my family and colleagues and even offering former clients money to sue me – which is illegal,” Buzbee wrote.
As the text continues, the lawyer even compares Jay-Z to a literary villain, quoting Shakespeare: “When an alleged perpetrator behaves in this way, wildly claiming that a simple letter of demand is “blackmail” and aggressively using the media to… attacking opposing counsel while ignoring the alleged victim’s accusations reminds me of a famous line from Shakespeare: “The lady protests too much, it seems to me.”
Buzbee’s statement concluded by saying that they would not allow themselves to be intimidated or bullied.
Post from Tony Buzbee on X:
The lawsuit filed Sunday against the 55-year-old rapper alleges that he raped a 13-year-old girl at a party hosted by Sean Combs in 2000. She had previously had a drink that made her dizzy. As she lay down in a room to rest, P. Diddy, Jay-Z and an unnamed female celebrity allegedly walked into the room. P. Diddy allegedly gave the girl to Jay-Z first before raping her himself. She defended herself and was able to escape.
