The police were called to the home of 31-year-old Anders Odegaard on Tuesday. There, officers found his 31-year-old ex-wife in a pool of blood in the hallway. The woman had gone to her former husband’s house to pick up their five children. The man, who was only wearing underwear at the time, allegedly attacked her.
Their eldest son of nine years ran out of the house and was able to stop a motorcyclist. The boy is said to have told the man that their mother was in the house and bleeding profusely. The boy allegedly told him that he thought his mother was dead. The motorcyclist asked the boy who was still in the house, to which the boy replied that his father was present.

The nine-year-old boy and his brother one year younger are said to have seen their father attack their mother. Their three-year-old brother also witnessed the attack. He is said to have been in his mother’s arms at the time of the attack. Two other children were said to have been in the woman’s car. The woman was not breathing when she was found by the police and had a large wound to the head. She was later pronounced brain dead in hospital.
Police found the man in the kitchen of the house. There was also blood above his eyebrow and in his hair. When the police asked him what had happened, he could only answer that he was not feeling well. The children told the police that they had seen their father aggressively towards their mother before.
The couple would have been married for ten years before separating in 2020.
