Lauri Markkanen exceeded 30 points for the fourth time this season, when the Utah Jazz beat the San Antonio Spurs 130–118 in the NBA.

Markkanen had 31 points, 12 rebounds and two assists. He was chosen as the best player of the match.

The Finn is in a wild mood, as he also scored 30 points against the Toronto Raptors on Christmas Eve. In November, a season’s point record of 38 was created.

The Jazz have crept closer to the playoffs in the NBA’s Western Conference. The team has now won six of their last eight games.

Spurs’ season, on the other hand, is in a shocking downward spiral. The team is last in the Western Conference after winning only four of their 29 games.

Last summer’s number one pick in the NBA, super promise Victor Wembanyama returned to the Spurs lineup against the Jazz. The Frenchman had missed one match when he injured his ankle stepping on a ball boy’s foot.

Wembanyama finished with 15 points, seven rebounds and four assists.
