Lauren Verster also a flop at a better time: ‘No longer works’

Lauren Verster also scores quite badly at a better time with her expensive TV show ‘Lauren!’. The move to prime time hardly helps her to gain a higher market share.

For years Lauren Verster has been allowed to fly all over the world with tax money, but that party paid for by the NPO soon seems to be a thing of the past. The new season of Lauren! as it scores very disappointing viewing figures. The premiere in particular did poorly last week with only 78 thousand viewers and a 2.9 percent market share on NPO 3.

Totally jerk

Lauren was also shocked herself, she confessed on NPO Radio 1. “That was dramatic, of course completely jerk.”

The presenter blamed the late broadcast time: 11 p.m. “I thought: what kind of time is that again? I tried to change that, but it didn’t work. We scored well in recent years, but then we were always around 9 p.m..”

The NPO decided to immediately move the program to 9.45 pm. “They thought: it’s not going to work like that, that’s how we kill the program.”

Still flop

The second episode of Lauren! attracted 155 thousand viewers (3.4 percent) at the new time yesterday, an almost equally high market share. Unfortunately for Lauren, there is hardly any improvement and, just like last week, it does not score well,” says viewing expert Tina Nijkamp.

Tina fears the worst for Lauren. “Perhaps the conclusion is that viewers of ‘exploring worlds’ like Lauren with polygamous families and the like have seen enough of that.”

Anniko at #1

Anniko van Santen was yesterday’s prime time winner with 1.1 million viewers (22 percent) for Opsporing Verzoeken. The silver goes to SBS 6’s Today Inside (921 thousand and 21 percent) and the bronze for RTL 4’s Bureau Arnhem (879 thousand and 17 percent).

The other most watched titles in prime time were NPO 2’s Nieuwsuur (745 thousand and 16 percent), NPO 1’s Redders op Zee (709 thousand and 14 percent) and SBS 6’s URK! (592 thousand and 12 percent).
