Katharina Kleinfeldt was in action last weekend. The moderator confused two players on live TV-now she gets support.

At the “Sport Bild” award, Wontorra said: “I think mistakes are human and happen to everyone. And I hope that she will not carry it after it too long.”

Kleinfeldt wanted to interview Friedl after the defeat, but did not recognize the Bremen because he had previously exchanged his jersey with Eintracht goalkeeper and ex-player Michael Zetterer.

Kleinfeldt then said to Friedl: “Of course we want to talk about Eintracht a bit. We go into the game first. 4: 1 ultimately won today. Is that the opening victory you expected?” Friedl was visibly irritated and then explained: “I am a Werder-Bremen player if that is not clear.” Kleinfeldt reacted with “Pardon” and, after recognizing her mistake, pushed after: “Marco. Sorry.”

Afterwards she continued the conversation normally. However, Friedl said after the interview: “I have never experienced that. I had a talk with the woman 90 minutes before the game, because this was urgently needed or is extremely important that you now have the media before the game and in the cabin.” It was “strange and also a bit ridiculous” that she didn’t recognize him after the game.

Last Sunday Kleinfeldt reacted again to the faux pas, told the German press agency: “The situation is very uncomfortable and annoys me. I hope that Marco can smile about it with a few days.” Kleinfeldt was “confused” at the moment of the Eintracht jersey, “so that this unfortunate confusion was undermined”.
