Latvia donates more than 270 seized cars from alcohol sinners to Ukraine | Abroad

The cases of another 34 cars with a value of more than 160,000 euros are still being processed.

The Latvian parliament had decided in February that cars of Latvian drivers caught driving drunk would be seized and made freely available to Ukrainian citizens.

Ukraine has been defending itself against a Russian war of aggression for almost two years. The fighting and Russian air raids regularly damage and destroy civilian vehicles. When Ukrainians want to flee from a war zone, they often have to rely on a car.
