In 2021 there were 863 alarming disappearances in our country. Of this, 93.6 percent has been solved and 680 missing have been found alive. This is evident from figures published by Minister of Justice Vincent Van Quickenborne (Open VLD). In order to solve disappearances more quickly, he has sent a circular to the public prosecutors, the police services and the Missing Persons Unit.
